Before joining Kisaco I had little events experience or formal sales training, it was a steep learning curve, but the training and support means it didn’t take too long to settle in. Dedication to their employee’s progression, means in this short time I have taken on so many different responsibilities and I am regularly offered a variety of training sessions.

At Kisaco the Delegate Sales role is unique. We take a much more in-depth approach to our portfolios and events, gaining a real understanding of the event, the audience, and feeding critical information back to the rest of the event team. We work with businesses to understand their goals, see who they would like to work with and bring them to the event. It could be a start-up looking for funding, and then guiding them through a start-up showcase application, or connecting large pharmaceutical companies with leading academics. The success of an event relies on having an audience to speak to, making sure we have the right people in the room to satisfy the sponsors, creating a good atmosphere and fostering innovation.

What makes this role so enjoyable, is getting to speak and connect with new people every day. When you connect with someone and find them a solution to a problem they have been facing in their business, it can be really fulfilling. Like with many sales jobs there is plenty of internal competition to be the highest earner, but where Kisaco is different is the willingness by every team member to help each other succeed. My best performing months would not have been possible without every member of the team helping with introductions, advice and general support.

I joined Kisaco as a fresh graduate during the pandemic, and this was my first experience working in an events company, so coming to Kisaco was a big change.

In my role as Producer, I spend a lot of time digging into the biggest business critical challenges that are affecting companies ranging from start-ups to conglomerates and putting together events that will help drive their businesses and the industries forward. As a producer I have been given a lot of responsibility early on and there is lots of opportunity for fast progression within the business.

My favourite thing about my role is immersing yourself in different industries, getting to travel extensively and helping emerging companies connect with some of the biggest companies in the industry; helping them forge connections that will have a massive impact on their business. I really enjoy my role and love the social aspect since returning to the office, a highlight being a scavenger hunt around London bridge.

I recently joined the Commercial Partnerships Team, having had previous roles in a range of verticals across a variety of event organisers.  What really stands out for me at Kisaco is the appetite for working in subject matters going through serious disruption.  There is no doubt that it’s a high pressure environment but it’s also so deeply rewarding watching conversations being created by the very platforms that we build.   Interactions between academics and leading biotechs, creators of cutting edge technology and big pharma, startups and specialist life science investors – I cannot help but feel that these interactions are a part of the fabric of the scientific community which gives me an unparalleled sense of purpose each and every day.  It’s also a ridiculously fun place to work and when we go out, we go out out.

The Marketing Exec role at Kisaco is my first role coming out of university, starting professional life virtually during a pandemic was a pretty daunting prospect. However, my worries were soon eased by the culture here at Kisaco, as I found I was surrounded by a lot of supportive, diligent, and diverse individuals with the right balance of new professionals to grow with and experienced professionals to learn from. I felt I’ve been managed extremely well, and I was given a lot of responsibility early on which was the fastest way for me to learn.

As a marketer at Kisaco Research, you get to work on a variety of campaigns and begin to manage your own after a few months, enabling you to develop your skills in multiple facets of marketing. This is quite unique as while most graduate marketing roles limit your responsibilities until you progress, at Kisaco you get to do it all from design to analysis, and the fast-paced environment allows for hard-workers to progress quickly.

My favourite thing about working at Kisaco is definitely the team atmosphere. There is a genuine bond across departments with everyone working towards the same goals. Well-being and team building are two obvious priorities for the company, which is important for any employee but personally I feel is ideal for a graduate unsure what to expect from the professional world.

My journey with Kisaco Research began in 2018 as a Delegate Acquisition Executive. With a life sciences background, this sales position was an ideal role to combine my knowledge with new selling techniques, to demonstrate my understanding and an opportunity to generate revenue.

I successfully passed my probation with training and the support of my peers and managers. This wasn’t a simple period as it required mental strength and hard work. Very quickly I progressed to become a team leader as I took the responsibility of collating weekly reports and illustrating leadership skills to my peers. As a result I was given a clear career path to becoming a Sales Manager that was supported with internal and external management training.

I have never come across as unique a culture to operate in - one which uplifts your mood during those difficult days. The people you work with really have an impact on you My colleagues know how to have a good laugh as well as how to work hard. We have a healthy competitiveness as we all want to be the best seller, to be rewarded and recognised with weekly/monthly incentives.

Our company is growing at such a rapid pace and I’m proud to be a part of it. It provides me with an extra motivation knowing I’m part of the growth of connecting thousands across the globe who attend our events!

Exciting times lie ahead as I look forward to discovering new opportunities and challenges as I continue to grow here at Kisaco Research.

I joined Kisaco in 2019 in search of a smaller company atmosphere and a new challenge in a new section of the event industry. Within a month I was really pleased with the move I had made. I found the company to be such an open and progressive environment where ideas were shared across the teams and departments.

In Operations, our role now covers 2 different types of events: Live face-to-face and virtual. For face-to-face, jobs can range from coordinating AV and signage briefs to deciding on event lunch menus. We liaise heavily with the venues to decide on the room set up and onsite logistics. In the virtual world, we are responsible for creating the online event platform, setting up the live stream sessions and assisting delegates with their online experience. No day is ever the same which means we need to be prepared for anything! 

One of my main reasons for taking the role was the travel side to the job. Since starting I have been lucky enough to have travelled to Brussels, Frankfurt, Mountain View - California and Austin - Texas. I always make the most of my free times in the evening to get out and see the local sites and eat the local cuisines, and look forward to this aspect of my role returning once international travel resumes. 

Kisaco is a very welcoming, passionate company to work for. It is great to be part of a growing at such speed and working on such varied successful events.

I’ve been working in the finance team at Kisaco for over a year now and whilst I sit within a smaller department than most, from the start I felt very integrated into the business, working with people in all teams and at all levels.  When I first joined Kisaco I was genuinely surprised by how diverse the business was, my colleagues are from all walks of life which makes it a really varied and exciting place to work. 

Kisaco has an extremely fast paced environment which means every day is different and there are always new problems to solve. Kisaco are also very big on creating business minded individuals and I have attended multiple talks from external people on how to better yourself in the work environment, mentally and financially. The people here are always looking for ways to inject some fun into the workplace and even during Covid-19 when working remotely we have made the most of the situation with fancy dress days, a murder mystery Christmas party, walking challenges and more. Most of these things are born from someone seizing and idea and running with it – which is a definite theme to working at Kisaco!

When I first started at Kisaco Research I didn’t have any corporate experience and was really worried that I wont be able to fit in and understand the role. First week into Kisaco I was met with kindness and understanding which allowed for a comfortable training week and got rid of all the nerves and doubts I had as I quickly saw that I will receive a lot of support from each department to make sure I can do my day to day tasks. Got up and running in a month and my manager at the time didn’t just let me get on with it but thoughtout my probation period, I was guided and given constructive feedback helped me go from 10k months to 30k months +.

We have a great internal promotion process which allowed me to get promoted from Senior – Junior – Team leader – Manager in less than 2 years. For anyone who’s looking for progression, responsibility and a career path that’s mapped out with realistic goals for ambitious individuals. This is the place to be. Great culture and a DS Team that have an ideology that if 1 fails we all fail and it really shows, the way everyone is always helping each other is amazing, especially for new starters.

I have been working at Kisaco as a Commercial Partnerships Manager since November 2017. My previous experience in events was a placement year at another events company in the delegate acquisition team, so coming to Kisaco was a big step up and I was very well supported in my transition from the get-go. 

My role is to work with organisations in respective industries to help meet their commercial objectives, from brand exposure to a dragons den style pitching session with start-ups. I aim to dig deep into the commercial goals of our partners and consequently advise ways we can partner which best aligns to meet these. I would say my role is quite pivotal to the success of the events I am working on as the targets I aim to meet and exceed are higher than the delegate revenue, so a lot is riding on me for overall event performance. 

One of the best things about my role is having the flexibility to get creative on delivering great partnerships, particularly with global brands who are looking to tap into our start-up network. I’ve really enjoyed building our ‘In the Spotlight’ series, where start-ups apply to pitch their innovations to our partners such as Unilever, P&G and Beiersdorf. I also like the support I get from senior management to progress personally and as a project team. Although it’s been tricky throughout the pandemic, the social aspect of the company is a great laugh and I run the Kisaco FC football team which is good fun.
